Metamorphosis

Have you ever watched a caterpillar grow and then fold itself into a chrysalis? Have you watched that chrysalis change in color and eventually split to reveal the crumpled up butterfly within? The butterfly takes its time to pump up its wings and then lets them dry in the sun. It rolls and unrolls its tongue, forming it into a tube with which it will drink the nectar from flowers. All of this strikes me as miraculous.

People sometimes go through life changes, too. We should never judge a person we see struggling because all that happens to us in life can be transformed into the beauty we become. We are all works in progress.

Here is my reading of the first chapter of Caterpillar's Surprise.

Come back tomorrow, April 1, as I add a new audio poem every day to celebrate Poetry Month. See you then!
